Construction Method

All our structures are made of 6×6 treated timber for the perimeter and main beam, and 2×6 or 2×8 depending on the height for the joists. The 2×12 wall plates are covered with a Resisto protective membrane.

Our structures rest on steel screw piles or concrete-cast elephant feet with adjustable steel brackets. We systematically use galvanized steel brackets fixed with structural screws. All our cuts are protected with a coating that guarantees the integrity of the treated wood.

Our wooden handrails and guardrails are made from 2×4s secured with specially designed steel brackets and mounted on 3×3 aluminum posts measuring between 42 and 49 inches in height. This design has become standard for 2026, as 4×4 wooden posts tend to warp and split. The balusters are usually made of aluminum, spaced 3.75 inches apart. Our railing sections are no longer than 60 inches in length in order to comply with the most stringent standards.

For pool surrounds, we are moving from 42 inches to 48 inches in height and to 2×6 for the cross members, in accordance with the new 2026 standards (in French). In addition, we are adding a standard aluminum gate with an approved magnetic lock and continuous tension hinges to close the gate automatically.
